Does your dog...
Tremble when it’s time to visit the groomer?
Run away when you try to brush them at home?
Refuse to let you trim their nails?
Require a muzzle at the groomer?
You are not alone! Hello, my name is Kerri. I am a Master Groomer Behavior Specialist and Certified Cooperative Care Trainer and I am here to help! 👋
What people are saying:
"Kerri's Kind Pet Care was literally the answer to my prayers. My small fur baby Sophie was extremely uncomfortable when being groomed and resisted all efforts of several groomers. Kerri worked with Sophie establishing trust with her gentleness and kindness. Sophie now loves her grooming with Kerri and wags her tail in greeting when she arrives. And the best is that Sophie looks absolutely amazing when she finishes her visit with Kerri. I can't say enough wonderful things about Kerri and her skills!"

Did you know?
It’s actually a green flag when a groomer tells you they weren’t able to complete your dog’s groom today. Groomers are often expected to make every dog look perfect, no matter how the dog feels in the moment. And because most groomers aren’t trained in dog behavior or learning theory, they may unintentionally push dogs past their comfort level—even when they’re gentle, caring people.
Many dogs find grooming difficult because it involves unusual sensations, unfamiliar tools, restraint, and close handling of sensitive areas. Grooming asks dogs to tolerate loud noises, vibration, water, and being touched in ways that don’t naturally make sense to them. Some dogs also have past negative experiences, limited early socialization, or naturally sensitive temperaments. Without training and support, these factors can make grooming feel overwhelming.
What People Are Saying:
"Kerri is such a great teacher. My dog does not like getting her nails trimmed and she worked with both of us to make it a better experience for my dog and me, she was very patient and broke up every step so we both learned how to make nail trims easier!" ~Christina A.
It might surprise you that dog groomers are not required to have any type of certification. This means many professionals enter the field without formal education in behavior, learning theory, or low-stress handling. That’s why choosing someone with advanced training matters.
As a Master Groomer Behavior Specialist and Certified Cooperative Care Trainer, we take a behavior-focused, dog-centered approach to every session. We never force your pet through a procedure they’re struggling with. We follow the Association of Pet Dog Trainer's humane hierarchy and use structured desensitization and counterconditioning to help your dog learn to be calm, comfortable, and cooperative. If your dog is having a hard day, we’ll always communicate that with you—and provide customized at-home exercises to support ongoing progress.
Grooming is a team effort between the groomer and the pet parent—and together, we help your dog build confidence one gentle step at a time.
✨"Happy Handling" Grooming Packages✨
This package includes 4 or 6 shorter grooming sessions designed to help your dog become comfortable with me, the salon environment, grooming tools, and handling procedures. Many dogs aren’t ready for a full groom on their first visit, and trying to do everything at once can feel overwhelming. By breaking grooming into small, manageable steps and moving at your dog’s pace, we build trust and confidence—setting the foundation for calm, successful grooms in the future. ✨
